Post your T809/D820 comments or questions here!

I thought I'd make one blog entry specifically to invite people to press the "comment" button below and make any comments or questions. Digging your phone? By the way, if something's critical, you can email me directly, the email address is estephan followed by an "@" sign, and then fastmail.net. No huge news to report at the moment. I've been putting episodes of a beloved animated tv show on the phone (again, the put-movies-on-your-phone process is described here) ... and had the wonderful experience of acquiring a set of avi files of the show that had the commentary track built in -- the result being that my conversion had ONLY the commentary track. Love commentary tracks, but not ONLY commentary tracks. yeesh... only motto to that one: acquire different avi files...

Anyway, post any comments as by hitting the comment link.

Hello Eric and thanks for your page. I've been trying to get my Holux GPSlim 240 Bluetooth GPS to work with my Flashed (Tmobile branded) D820 - to no avail. The bluetooth stack on the phone finds the Holux, but doesn't seem to talk and only offers up "serial" connections. I'm wanting to use this combination with the new Mobile Gmaps release found here:

http://www.mgmaps.com

for in true gps tracking on the Samsung.

Problem is that I don't think the Holux and the Samsung are talking - any ideas?

Thanks again for a nice little blog!

Mike

hey man -- well, I have to admit, you've left me in the dust. I have only used bluetooth for linking with my PC and with a headset. sounds damn fun what you're trying. I've never played with the flash-it-to-be-a-D820 stuff before, and I've never worked with java stuff other than lame games. serial connections -- is there a chance that that is in fact an OK connection to your holux thing? have you tried using one of those serial connections that it offers? maybe that's just its way of typifying the link it will make. When you run the mgmaps program, does it tell you "can't find your gps"?

does this phone allow other languages to be install instead of the ones tat came wit the phone?

I haven't seen anything that says that languages other than the "built in" ones can be added. I think you're stuck with the built-in languages.

Thank you for taking the time to assist other T809ers. My problem is the battery. I've had my T809 for 20 months now; not that I was counting. I know this because I'd recently contacted T-Mobile about upgrading and was told I'd get a better deal if I wait two more months as with the 2 year contract, you get the best deal for an upgrade 22 months after your last one. Anywho, a fully charged battery will only last me 5-6 hours...if I'm lucky. This has been going on for almost a year now. I don't really want to get a new phone. I LOVE my T809 to death! I'd be lucky to find another phone with 1/2 the camera options of this one not to mention the myriad of other wicked features. But what good are all the bells and whistles if the darn thing dies after 5 hours!? Any and all suggestions you might offer are appreciated. OH! And I've tried getting a new battery. Doesn't help one bit! I'm thinkin' maybe it's the phone. Maybe a virus? When I complained to T-Mobile about it, they were useless and offered no help. Well, thank you for your assistance. If you'd like, you can respond to my e-mail which is trinitarianjam@isp.com or I'll just keep checkin' this forum.
